The month of August is usually a month of multiple celebrations in our congregation. Twenty-nine postulants who expressed their desire and zeal to serve God and humanity in His Church through the congregation of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus were received and given the religious habit of the congregation to begin their two years formation as novices in the Congregation. The celebration took place at the chapel of HHCJ Novitiate Kakwagom, Boki, Cross River State, Nigeria while the celebration in Ghana was at HHCJ Novitiate Nsoatre, Ghana. We wish the novices God’s graces as they continue their discernment journey.
Also, on the Solemnity of the Assumption of our Blessed Virgin Mary, August 15, 23 novices after two years of Novitiate formation, made their first profession of vows in the congregation in the presence of the Superior General Mother Germaine Ocansey HHCJ and her Council. The ceremony took place at St. Benedict Cathedral Ogoja, Cross River State, Nigeria. While 6 novices also made their first vows at the St. Paul Cathedral Sunyani, Ghana. Family, friends, and well-wishers were present to congratulate and celebrate with the Sisters. We wish them God’s blessings.
We thank the Almighty God who has always blessed our congregation with these vocations.
