Multicultural Day Celebration: July 1, 2024

Canada Day is a day to reflect on what it means to be Canadian, to share what makes us proud and to celebrate and thank God for this beautiful land that we now call home. This pride is reflected in as many ways as there are Canadians.

Canada Day highlights the richness of our land, our diversity, our culture, our contributions, and above all, the people.

July 1 is an opportunity for Canadians from all communities to come together. And a day where many festivities are held across the nation.

In Manitoba, the Archdiocese of Saint Boniface organizes a multicultural day celebration every July 1. The celebration begins with Holy Mass at the Saint Boniface Cathedral followed by other cultural and festive activities.

Durum the celebration this year, we had the multicultural Mass where the liturgy brought forward the different languages and cultures in the archdiocese. It was so beautiful to see how united the children of God are despite cultural differences.

After Mass, there was plenty of traditional dishes and music from diverse cultures. It was so colourful, and everyone was in a joyful mood.

We the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus participated actively in the liturgy during the multicultural day celebration and also joined in the festivities after Mass.

May the Lord continue to bless our dear Country Canada!
